Troy, IL

Shutting down in Minooka for the night turned out better than I had anticipated. I was hoping to make it home for a bit for Christmas but dispatch was not cooperating well. The next day I checked in and they gave me a load through the house. P/U in Montgomery IL and deliver to Dale IN at 0630 this morning. That gave me an extra 14 hours so I got to the Lafayette terminal and shut down for the night at 6 pm Christmas Eve. Went to my brothers house with my daughter and spent the evening with the family - had a great time! Next day I slept in and spent more time with my daughter. Hit the road at 2 PM. Got to within 15 miles of my delivery and shut down for the night. Delivered this morning. P/U my next load in Plainfield IN this afternoon and I'm off to Porterville CA for early morning delivery on the 30th.

Yeah! You'll like the area around Porterville. Farming country. I've loaded several time in P-ville and surrounding towns. Big produce country. Not too many buffets or Amish. Take 40 to Barstow then across to Bakersfield. Look at the airport at Mojave. There are two C-133's sitting there and the far end of the runway. Lots of experimental planes there also. You may see rail cars being loaded with sweet potatoes. Lot's of stuff going on there. You'll cross the north boundry of Edwards AFB. Lots of stuff to see. Over and out!
