Hesperia, CA

Delivered my Porterville load this morning. Spent the night last night at Mojave CA which is close to Edwards AFB. After Porterville I picked up my next load in Ontario and it delivers to Romeoville IL on Monday after which I should be going home.

I'm routed through Vail Pass and the Eisenhower this time. Probably won't try to get the route changed as I need to take the fastest way. I'd much rather stay on I-15 till SLC then grab I-80. I-70 through Western CO sucks.

Yeah! Take I-40 to St. Louis then head north. Be alert for the buggies. Over and out!

Crete has assigned fuel stops that you can't change - fuel card only works at those stops. You can get a fuel solution changed but you have to have a good enough reason for it. I called today and tried to get it changed to I-15/I-80 but they wouldn't go for it. It's all about keeping the miles down which yes, normally means you use less fuel and the company makes more money. In this case even though I-15/I-80 route is 40 miles longer there is no way that route uses more fuel compared to I-15/I-70/I-76/I-80 route given all the fuel you'll use climbing up mountains for a few hundred miles.

Yeah! The owners are the boss, I guess. Bet few of them have driven a truck any distance. Oughta set 'em up with heavy load and send dem through the Eisenhower or the old road, eh? Jellico would probably scare them to death. See ya next year! Over and out!
