Houston TX

Already tried making my delivery this morning but they were not ready for it. My delivery window was today between 7 and 10 AM. I got there at 7:05. They told me to come back at 8:30 so I found a road that has little traffic and am parked on one lane of it with my four ways flashers on waiting for 8:30. I'm parked right along the main airport here in Houston - George Bush Airport.

I spent the night at Baytown last night at the TA. I got there at 6:15 PM thinking there would be plenty of parking as it's a good time to grab a spot, lot of big truck stops there and it's the weekend. Holy smokes all the truck stops were full! I found one parking spot open and grabbed it. In my three years of trucking I've never seen something like what was going on there. There were about 40 flatbeds there and most of them had no loads. Lots of truckers about talking to each other passing time. Some even had chairs set out. The TV lounge was full which is normally something you only see when the Super Bowl is on. I asked one flatbed driver what was going on and he said he'd been there for three days waiting for a load out. I pulled out of there at 6 AM CT. Normally for a Monday morning you could expect at least a third of the trucks back on the road but many were still there sitting. There were about 10 spots or so open - there should have been 4 to 5 times that by that time of day.

Hope I get a load out of here!

Yeah! Think you will find that flatbeds normally have trouble finding loads in that area because the crops have already been hauled out. Plenty of freight coming in but not much going out. Southern Texas always has trucks waiting for loads. Don't get excited. It ain't your problem, driver. Over and out.
